Sproutopia: for Kids!

SPROUTOPIA: A PLACE FOR KIDS!

Looking for something to do with the kids? Bring your budding gardener to our children's area full of great hands-on activities and demonstrations. The young and old alike will enjoy a stroll through this imaginative feature of the San Francisco Flower Show.

Tiny display gardens created by local schools adorn the children's area. Kids will be rewarded through hands-on and interactive activities that will provide them with a fun and educational experience at the Flower Show.

Scroll down for information on what will be featured at the upcoming 2009 Flower & Garden Show; including displays, activities and seminars just for kids and families.  There will be many kids activities that your child can participate in.

BARBARA BUTLER PLAYHOUSE

New at the 2009 show
: Custom playhouses by artist/builder Barbara Butler. Barbara's beautiful play structures have been featured in numerous publications, have starred in movies and on television shows such as The Oprah Winfrey Show and HGTV. Butler has successfully combined childhood fantasies with architectural know-how to create a world of enchantment right in a family's own backyard.

The playhouses appearing at the Show have been altered for public use, so children are welcome to explore inside them and experience the fun of these imaginative and unique structures firsthand.

KIDS AND GARDEN FUN

The Show provides hands-on, garden-based activities to inspire kids of all ages to discover gardening at a young age. Through these activities, kids will have fun and learn at the same time.

This year, The Show will feature butterfly, bee, flower and seed activities to educate and delight.  There will be some worms and carniverous plants too!
