In the villages of Mallorca, people live with a sense of community that is cultivated by the way they use their outdoor spaces. Like many of the garden terraces in Mallorca, this garden is a front yard. Creating an outdoor living space in front of the house makes a welcoming space for casually meeting and greeting neighbors
and passersby. This front terrace reflects the local climate, focuses on site-appropriate plants, invites wildlife and extends the familys living space into the landscape. Traditional Mediterranean design inherently bolsters the social environment while enhancing the surrounding natural environment.
