ABOUT US

THE NEW SAN FRANCISCO FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW

In 2009, a group of Bay Area families and garden enthusiasts agreed to purchase the San Francisco Flower & Garden Show.  We are proud to bring the 25th anniversary of the show back in 2010.  This year is very exciting, not only due to our Show anniversary, but because of the many new features that will be in the Show this year.

The Show is now owned, managed and supported 100% folks living in the Bay Area and our local community.  Our main address is in San Francisco and we have a recuriting and production office in San Mateo.  We are dedicated to hiring local employees for all aspects of the Show.

The Show extends an arm of friendship and support to all garden clubs, flower and garden organizations, schools and other non-profit groups throughout California.  The Show is currently seeking non-profit status as well with the intent of donating all of its proceeds back into the same community that invests its time and resources to make this the best Flower Show on the West Coast.

This Show would not be possible without the generous donations of time and money by several organizations.  The community has been very supportive of our efforts and we know that our success is directly tied to the efforts of countless volunteers and community enthusiasts that give the show its flair and passion and make it one of the best Flower & Garden Shows in the United States.  We thank all of you for your support in making the Show a reality in 2010.

THE FLOWER SHOW STEERING COMMITTEE

The show will be guided by a volunteer steering committee with a long history of participating in and supporting the show. The well-known landscape designers, gardeners and growers on the committee include Chairman Tim O'Shea of Greenworks Design, Davis Dalbok of Living Green, Mike Boss of Rock & Rose Landscapes and Robin Stockwell of Succulent Gardens.

Christine is our Business/Finance Manager. She has a B.S. degree in Sociology and Business Administration. She has been working in accounting and finance for several years in the Event industry and enjoys working with happy people. She is good with numbers, but even better with her garden. Kay Estey - San Francisco Garden Show Producer
Kay Hamilton Estey, Producer of the San Francisco Flower & Garden Show, started in the business as a garden designer, and even designed and built a garden in the San Francisco Show (a while ago). Now she produces the Show, using her business background and knowledge of the green industry to work with landscape professionals, plant people, artists, students - in fact, anyone connected in any way with plants and beauty - to create a gorgeous show. Kay is a member of too many horticultural organizations to list, and has never met a plant she didn't like. She loves to nap, drink wine, read, draw, write, and think. She gardens hard on a small plot of land in San Francisco, trying to bring order to an unruly collection of plants, cats, raccoons, possums and squirrels.

Her current new plant delight is Symphoricarpus albus laevigatus, Snowberry, a native California shrub, for light shade, with pink flowers and lovely white berries. Other new favorites are South African bulbs of many kinds which do very well in the San Francisco Bay Area. She could go on...

Janet Endsley - Garden Show Seminar Manager
Janet Endsley was a marketing and PR professional and an active horticulture volunteer before becoming the Seminar Manager for the San Francisco in 2005. She works with leading garden writers, horticulturists, educators, designers and nursery owners to schedule the largest slate of horticulture seminars anywhere in the US. She served on the Arboretum Foundation Board, and has chaired the Pacific Northwest Gardens Competition since 1998. She is past chair of the Northwest Perennial Alliance and produced the NPA Open Gardens Directory for seven years. She is also a member of NHS and the Alderwood Garden Club. She holds a B.A. in Public Communication from the University of Washington. Janet grew up in the San Francisco Bay area.

In addition to tending her Mill Creek, Washington garden, Janet "gets in touch with her inner artist" and makes copper pieces and pebble mosaics for her garden, as well as creates art cards. She also loves to read, ski, bake and walk her Aussie. She lives with her husband of 20 years, Mike, and their 7th grade daughter, Peyton.
