San Francisco Positions and Descriptions:
Personnel Office Assistant
Staff Personnel Office at all times. Maintain timecards. Oversee personal belongings and valuables in Personnel Office. Additional duties as assigned by the Personnel Manager. Check out and in all Show staff radios. Take phone messages. Reports to the Personnel Manager.
Show Office Front Desk
In charge of the Flower Show Office front desk - nerve center. Answers phones. Checks out and checks in all radios to Show Office personnel. Reports to Personnel Manager, Garden Show Manager and Chairman.
Will-Call Staff
Helps set up and close Will-Call each day, and performs same duties as Will-Call Tickets Coordinator. Reports to Personnel Manager.a
Lobby Information
Answers general questions with great guidance and patience. Reports to Personnel Manager.
Floaters
Performs errands in and around the San Mateo Events Center. Keeps one ear to radio at all times to listen for errand requests. Can run errands for any staff member as requested and authorized by Personnel Manager. May be assigned to a specific station if needed. Reports to the Personnel Manager.
Package Check Staff
Checks plants or packages that visitors want to temporarily store (storage in package check is temporary and not overnight). Appropriately designates items for temporary storage. Records items and shelf position on pre-printed form. Reports to Personnel Manager.
Shuttle Attendant
Guides visitors as they exit and board trains & shuttles. Answers general questions. Outdoor position. Reports to Personnel Manager. (NOTE: Bring a warm coat in case of wind or cold.)
Relief
Provides scheduled lunch and break times for designated temporary Show Staff. Receives relief schedule each day before shift and is responsible for making sure everyone on their list receives their break. Reports to Personnel Manager.
Children's Area Monitor
Supervises activities in children's area, answers questions, keeps supplies stocked.
